There was a response from another MEMBER stating that the 1558 Bios would not allow Windows XP install. I am debating flashing my Studio 1558 with the 1555 bios if that is even possible. As I stated the 1555 has the exact same hardware options as my 1558, but I have never messed with bios before and am a little leary.Would like to make it less complicated as possible and already have external floppy, but I see you mentioned USB flash drives won t work so just curious, thanks. I currently have an xp pro machine running on a sata drive. I have since built a newer faster machine also with sata drives running windows 7 64 bit. 50 Quote: Originally Posted by wpatters1229 I see that the process says you need to have a floppy drive. I take out the C drive from the xp machine and put it in with the other sata drives in my new win 7 machine.OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit 6 I think you misunderstand me. My search of HP web site: General XP Downgrade Guide for HP Laptops - HP Support Forum THANK YOU VERY MUCH I managed to install it and now I am writing this msg from XP side. I made another bootable xp cd added the sata drivers with Nlite and first it gives error again then I started and I press F7 to disable ACPI setting and after that everthing did as normal xp installation. So Thank you very much, I really appericiated your help 16 I seem to be getting no where fast on this SATA floppy.I am trying to make dual boot with win xp and win7 is preinstalled.
