Updating access database from dataset in vb net

The Find method returns the row with Customer Id = Tst ID.

After that I assign values of the row and call the Data Adapter's Update method. Updating data using the Data Adapter's Update method Deleting a row is simple.

The way the architecture works with the Data Adapter is that you can make any changes you want to the filled Data Set, and it won't affect the database until you call the Update method.

When Update is called, the Data Adapter will attempt to execute each query (UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE) on every row of the Data Set that has been updated, inserted, and deleted.

Basically the adapter is a multi tool that you can set up with specific SQL statements to tell it how to interact with the database from your dataset.

Remember the dataset is local so it hasn't hit the database at any fashion.

What you need to do is create an INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE sql procedures to tell the database what to do with the data.

Listing 5-50 deletes the row with the value Tst ID.

As you can see from the code, I called the Find method to find the row and called the Delete method of the Data Row.

Ole Db Public Class Form3 Dim cnxn String As String = ("Provider=Microsoft. That dataset than can be bound to a grid and the data appears!
